Philippines DX News # 13
March 9, 2008
Voice: Welcome to the first year anniversary edition of the Philippine DX News. This is report number # 13. I’m Henry Umadhay in Antique, central Philippines. As mentioned in our previous program, this month we are celebrating our first year anniversary. Pilipinas DX maiden broadcast on March 25, 2007 over this program Wave scan here on AWR-Adventist World Radio. I would like to thank Rhoen and the whole staff of AWR Asia Pacific for the privilege of airing this segment. We have a limited QSL Card just for this occasion. The card featuring the largest flower in the world. Rafflesia, locally named as “Uruy”, the biggest flower in the world that can only be found in Malaysia and Indonesia but was discovered here. In February 2002, an environmental organization discovered what could be one of the world’s largest flowers in the 5,511 hectare Sibalom National Park, Sibalom, Antique , Philippines. It is located about10 kilometers away from my location in the eastern portion of our province. It is measuring about 22 inches in diameter; the endangered flower has no stem and leaves.
Send us a reception report for this segment and we’ll send you the special QSL card. So please keep your reception reports coming in! The email address:, that’s p-i-l-i-p-i-n-a-s-d-x @, pilipinasdx
